Building Vs. Buying Luxury Homes In MA

For luxury homes, you can either construct a new property or purchase an existing one. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. The following are some thoughts that may help you evaluate building vs. buying luxury homes in MA.

Buying a Pre-built Luxury Home

Buying a pre-built property is a less complicated undertaking than building one. There are fewer decisions to make since the home is fully built and hardware and appliances are already selected. Time frames and costs are also more finite. However, existing homes may not be as unique, especially when located in subdivisions with similar designs. They can also lack some features on your wish list and require renovations after you complete the purchase. You may want to evaluate alternatives and pricing with a remodeler prior to moving forward with the purchase.

Constructing a Unique Luxury Home

Constructing a custom luxury property can be fun and rewarding, but it also comes with some challenges. Custom homes can be constructed to your requirements. This enables you to include every feature that you want and to create a truly unique property. On the other hand, having a property constructed is not simple. First of all, it can be difficult finding and purchasing a suitable lot. Once you find it, it may not necessarily be in the community setting you aimed for. The construction process also requires more time to complete and with many options to consider throughout the process. The ending cost can change based on factors such as upgrades, design changes and unexpected issues. Lastly, locating a good builder will be critical.

I stay up to date with lending guidelines and speak with underwriters on a daily basis to ensure I am aware of all of the lending guidelines in place.
